จากการศึกษาสภาพแวดล้อม และบริบทโดยรอบพื้นที่ของที่ตั้งโครงการ ซึ่งเป็นเมืองที่โลดแล่นไปสู่การพัฒนาที่ทำให้มีมิติแห่งความเป็นมนุษย์เลือนหายไป ซึ่งทำให้เป็นเมืองที่ใหญ่ขึ้น ทันสมัยมากขึ้นอยู่ตลอดเวลา แต่กรุงเทพฯ ก็ยังมีซากอดีตหลงเหลือที่ไม่อาจลบเลือนได้ สยามในสมัยหนึ่งงดงามไปด้วยสีสัน อาคารอันโอ่อ่าและพิธีตระการตา ซึ่งยังชวนให้ถวิลหา ท่ามกลางสภาพความสับสนวุ่นวายในปัจจุบัน จึงนำมาเป็นแนวความคิดในการออกแบบโครงการ ได้เลือกนำเอาเรื่องราวของสยามที่ทำการติดต่อค้าขายกับต่างชาติในสมัยก่อน มาทำให้รู้สึกถึงความงามแบบไทยในสมัยก่อน ผ่านเรื่องราวของสิ่งต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นมากมายในการเปิดประเทศเพื่อทำการค้าขายและทำธุรกิจกับต่างชาติ มีทั้งเรื่องการต้อนรับ การแลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรม การติดต่อค้าขายจึงได้ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวผ่านวิถีชีวิต ความประณีตในงานหัตถกรรม ซึ่งเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของคนไทยมาอย่างช้านาน
